Swimming Pools

In this article, I am going to go over the essentials of every great swimming pool. What exactly do you need. Of course everyone know they need a pool, but what swimming pool supplies do you really need.

Swimming pool covers: These are not necessary, but I would highly recommend then. They save you time and money. They help keep leaves and other things of the like out and help with stopping the formation of algae. This lowers the cost because you do not have to use as many harsh chemicals. I would also recommend getting a solar cover if your pool will be in direct sunlight, which it probable will. These covers raise the temperature of your water by eight degrees which is very significant and will save you money from having to heat the pool yourself.

Swimming pool heaters: These are also not necessary, but can allow for your swimming season to be much longer. There are three different types of swimming pool heaters: electric, gas, and solar. Electric take awhile to heat up the pool, but are somewhat efficient. They are the best if used for a whole season at your house. Gas are the fastest, but least efficient. I would recommend one of these for a vacation house. Solar heaters are expensive to buy, but very efficient. I would not recommend one of these.

Swimming pool chemicals: Chlorine and bromine are the two most common chemicals. Bromine is gentle the chlorine, but more expensive and you need a chemical feeder which raises the prices even more, so I would stick with chlorine. There are alternatives to these, but they are even more expensive and do not do the job as well. I would stick with chlorine, unless you have allergies to it or any other type of reaction. The irritation and discoloration of the hair and clothing is not horrible.

Swimming pool toys: These are necessary for every pool. Floats are fun along with tubes and rafts. I enjoy torpedoes as well. You can never go wrong with a basketball hoop which needs a pool basketball net or squirt guns. You got the pool to enjoy, do not cheap out now that you have the pool and not get any toys to truly enjoy it. They are a blast.
